Quick update

Woah, it's been quite a while since I posted here.
I am indeed now a resident of another country, Scotland. It doesn't seem a whole lot different from home, the major difference is the currency and how CHEAP everything is!

I've obviously settled in quite well, it's been three months. My apartment is lovely, and it's got such a beautiful view. It's really old and has gorgeous high ceilings. There are a lot of people living in my apartment, though (16!) so it can be a little tough and intense at times, but most of the time, i don't mind it. Great place for hosting a party ;)

I've made some friends, and I am going to make more, it is my new goal haha. Michelle was the first friend I made and we just clicked. Which was really good, it's nice to have someone to talk to and hang out with. She's pretty great, most of the time. As with all friendships, though, there is a little bit of tension at the minute, but nothing I can't handle :)

The course I'm doing is wonderful, I really like it. This year isn't so stressful, I imagine next year will be a nightmare though haha. But, it's nice to relax, last year was pretty mental.
I haven't got a job here yet, which would be nice, but I will get one soon and all will be lovely.

It's almost Christmas time! I am planning on going home on the 20th, looking forward to it a lot. Definitely meeting up with all of my friends, and VERY excited for Christmas dinner! It'll be nice not to have it through a straw :P

In February, it is my 21st birthday. I have started planning it already, since I am asking most of my Irish friends to come to me, as I don't think it will be possible for me to go to them. It's a big ask, but most of them seem to be able to come, so that's amazing. I am looking forward to it a lot, I will most likely have a big snowfight or a citywide game of hide and seek, depending on the weather of course. Then back to my (massive) apartment for hot drinks and then a party afterwards :) Very excited.

Anyway, I don't think I have anything else to report!

Making friends

I lovelovelove making new friends! The trouble I have is finding people where a want of friendship is mutual. There's nothing wrong with some of the people I've met, but I'm really picky about my friends. I guess acquaintances are fun though :)
I met a boy the other night, we got on well, he was cute, but I didn't get his number and I'm still really annoyed lol. Ah well, I'll meet another nice boy :)

Also, I've been trying to find a job, like a maniac. There doesn't seem to be anything suitable. I had an interview this morning, but they were looking for someone to work fulltime, unfortunately. So tomorrow, it's my mission to find a job. GOGOGO.

I think that's all the major news, we got assigned our second report, on alien abductions which is something I know nothing about, so it'll be...interesting.

Anyway, that's it for now folks!

Starting classes

This Monday, I attended my first lecture here. I've been in college before, but nothing quite so big as this. The lecture hall was HUGE. Seats 300 people, and there was still no room. It was definitely an experience.

I've been a good little student and doing all my homework and rewriting notes so that they are legible for exam time. But, I've already missed a day, I am ashamed to say. No fault of my own, I promise. But, it is a vicious cycle, I've been doing it since I started college. 3 years ago. This year, I need to end the cycle.
Anyway, today marks the last day of my first week, and I think it went pretty well. :)

First post

This may be a little late, considering that I've been in the country almost two weeks already, and for the most part, am set up. However, I've set up this blog to chronicle my life, here, in Scotland.

I should mention that I came to Scotland to study Psychology in the University of Abertay Dundee. We won't go into why I chose Abertay, but I have come over, completely on my own, knowing nobody, and never having visited.
Bold, you might say, but at least I know the language ;)

So, I came over on a very early flight on Monday 7th of September. The college had organised a meet and greet type thing, where they would take us to Dundee from Edinburgh and give us rooms until our proper rooms were available. Which was very handy, as you can imagine.
Anyway, after I eventually found them and about 7 other Irish girls, I was taken to one of the student halls. It was a bit of a hole, but I was staying with the other Irish girls, and they were lovely, so I had fun while I was there.
After three days, they took me to my proper apartment, which I couldn't find at first due to intense stupidity on my part. But once I did, I fell in love. This building is amazing. It's really old, and it has a beautiful name. My room is massive and has it's own sink which is so cool. The ceilings are massively high and the window goes all the way from the floor to the ceiling.

I am an old fashioned girl with old fashioned tastes.

It is also right in the middle of town, which is brilliant despite the traffic noises, I can get used to those. I could also swoon about my place all day, so I will stop.

Getting myself set up here has been harder than I imagined, but amazing fun. I went to this orientation thing to meet the other international students and two of them are irish! how weird. One, I actually knew from years ago, but anyway. They are really nice, and we seem to have really hit it off, so it's good to have friends already. :)
I've had to be all responsible and buy plates and cutlery and cups and all of that. I love picking out stuff like that, I am such a weirdo. But, i now have things of that nature to call my own! yay!
I got a new phone, within a couple of days, and it's really fun, I'm way too amused by it :D
umumum alsoooo i need to set up a bank account, which for some reason, I haven't done yet. But I will! And sooooon! Also, on the to-do list is to find myself a job. I need to get a job so badly, it's scary. But, I will. Because I have faith!

blahh tl;dr i like it here and i'm never leaving.

til the next pointless post! <3
